International Symposium of Torrential Rain and Freezing Rain Occurred in Guizhou Provionce, China
September 4-7, 2012 Xingyi, Guizhou Province, China
This symposium, organized by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, aims at improving the international communications and academic understandings on the torrential rain and freezing rain occurred in Guizhou Province, China. It will feature a series of invited lectures presented by leading research scientists from the United States, the United Kingdom,India, Pakistan, and China. Topics will include the dynamic mechanisms, predictability, and the forecasting methods of the torrential rain and freezing rain events in Guizhou Province, China.
This symposium is supported by the Key Project of the National Sciences Foundation, “The dynamic mechanisms and forecasting methods of freezing rains in Hunan and Guizhou Province” (No. 40930950). It is composed of around 50 scientists, in which 15 from USA, UK, India and Pakistan, who are working for this Project and committed to develop the international cooperation.
